Bantay Bata

•Assisted about 1,101 new cases and 2,140 returning cases

•Feeding program in Barangay Batasan Hills directly benefited 366 children, resulting in a dramatic drop in cases of malnourishment:

»children with 1st degree malnourishment decreased from 49% to 10%
»children with 2nd degree malnourishment decreased from 20% to 3%
»children with 3rd degree malnourishment decreased from 8% to 2%

Bantay Bata replicated its success in three communities in Guagua, Pampanga, Brgy. Bagon Nayon, Antipolo, Rizal and Brgy. Tangos, Navotas.

Bantay Bata continued to serve the Filipino child with 169,288 calls responded to in Metro Manila and 11,976 in Davao in 2005.

•The 1-6-3 hotline was activated nationwide in the Philippines by June.

•Bantay Bata was established in Iloilo and Cebu.


From 500 donors in 1997: individuals, schools, establishments and corporations supporting the "Barya Mo, Buhay Ko" coinbank project in the Philippines and across the world have grown to 100,000.

The Bantay Edukasyon project provided scholarships to 296 children in 2005 -- 14 childred in SPED, 34 in kindergarten, 223 in elementary, 54 in high school and 19 in college. Scholars were from Davao, Cebu, Mindanao, Gen. San and Bicol. Majority of the scholars were rescued by Bantay Bata and reintegrated with their families.

The Children's Village in Norzagaray, Bulucan housed 123 children.

ETV

•With the help of donors worldwide, educational TV packages were provided to an average of 1,400 schools per year, for a total of nearly 7,200 public elementary schools (covering atleast 5.4 million children in 1,200 municipalities) across the Philippines. Only 29,500 schools to go!

931 private schools were given the ETV package in 2005.

•"Art Jam" inspired children's creativities using everyday materials. It was awarded the Golden Dove Award as Best TV Children's Program by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas. The show also received the ANAK TV SEAL AWARD from the Southeast Asian Foundation.

Bantay Kalikasan

LA MESA NATURE RESERVE
•Seventy-two major Philippine species planetd by a total of 20,000 volunteers. With a 92.5% survival rate, trees were planted in 1,344 hectares out of 1,500 of the La Mesa Watershed. Only 156 hectares to complete before the end of 2006.

•72 Philippine endemic tree species were planted.

•3,146 visitors from April-October 2005.


LA MESA ECO PARK
•Opened with its attractions like the boating lagoon, salt-water swimming pool, the orchidarium, fishing wharf, flower terraces and picnic grounds.

The La Mesa Ecotrail, with its fresh air, hiking and biking trails, and beautiful surroundings, makes for the perfect outdoor get-away for the whole family. The Ecotrail is open for booking for schools, companies, and individuals.

Ecopark guided tour educated 30,871 students

Bayan Microfinance

•Bayan Microfinance's operations served a cumulative 44,012 clients from January to November 2005, with an amazing repayment rate of 96.68%.

Conducted Barangay Leadership and Business Development Training to 1,089 and Leadership Training to 772 clients.
