Philippine Typhoon Relief Concert set for Feb. 25 The City of Cerritos is co-sponsoring a “Philippine Typhoon Relief Concert” to raise funds for the people of the Philippines affected by the devastating typhoon Sendong in December 2011. The concert will be held at the Cerritos Park East Community Center at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 25. Cerritos Park East is located at 13234 E. 166th Street in Cerritos.

The concert will feature members of the Colburn Chamber Orchestra of The Colburn School. The concert will be conducted by Maxim Eshkenazy, Assistant Conductor, Colburn Orchestra. Eshkenazy and the musicians are donating their time and talent for the concert. The Colburn Chamber Orchestra is a string orchestra that performs professional-level repertoire and is the most advanced of the prestigious Colburn School’s ensembles. The City is providing the venue for the fund raiser.

Tickets cost $20 each and can be reserved by calling the City’s Recreation Services Division at (562) 916-1254. Tickets may be picked up the day of the concert at Cerritos Park East, beginning at 5 p.m. Payment by check will be accepted when the tickets are picked up. Seating is limited and will be by general admission.

Ticket proceeds will benefit ABS-CBN Foundation International’s Sagip Kapamilya Program that assists survivors of typhoon Sendong. Additional donations by check to ABS-CBN Foundation International’s Sagip Kapamilya Program will also be accepted at the concert. Donations are tax-deductible and may also be made by credit card through the ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. (USA) secure website: www.abscbnfoundation.org.
